WellBeing For Work is a consultancy established (in January 2007) to support businesses and individuals in a wide variety of areas towards well being at work.

The Director ~ Susannah McIntosh

Susannah, originally from London but now based in Scotland, is the director and senior training consultant and coach at Well Being For Work. She has a wealth of experience in coaching, training, counselling and occupational health and safety.
Over the last 10 years, Susannah has been teaching and training adults and young people throughout many organisations, in both the private and public sectors, and within a further education setting.

I have a positive energy about people and the counselling which I can bring to support employees within your organisation. I can reflect on my own responses and reactions to the counselling work. I can share my experiences with others as I go through my own journey of discovery and challenges within the counselling profession. I have much patience and often spend time reflecting on the process of counselling and supervision.”
She has developed excellent communication and listening skills to enable her to successfully coach and develop others. She provides knowledge and skills to help people to do their jobs, and sets goals and challenges as part of individual coaching, as well as supporting clients through any obstacles to achieving their full potential.
Susannah has over 10 years experience of working as a counsellor and trainer within the community, voluntary sector and within local authorities. She was selected as an associate member of a part funded voluntary counselling organisation CASSEL based in South East London and has:
She is currently working as a supervisor, providing individual and group supervision to counsellors at a local voluntary counselling organisation, First Step.
As a Specialist Consultant/Stress Management Trainer, she has delivered training courses in assertiveness skills, personal safety, communication skills, dealing with customers, and stress management to a range of people including those with mental health and special education and needs. In doing so, Susannah has redesigned classes to suit trainee requirements and as well as lecturing, has employed many other teaching methods such as drama, experiential, and practical application.
She has also run stress and relaxation classes for the Healthy Working Lives programme with local government and assisted on a stress management programme organised by Cambuslang Health Initiative (CHI) and funded by South Lanarkshire council in January 2007, whereby she facilitated groups managing stress and anxiety.
In a voluntary role, she has coached, mentored, and counselled teenage school pupils on a weekly basis, assisting them in their development with issues such as bullying, coping with autism, parental separation and divorce, and aggressive behaviour.
As an Occupational Health and Safety Adviser, and specialist in training, Susannah has gained considerable experience in advising and coaching managers in Health and Safety, as well as devising training courses and producing training materials for management.

Susannah has worked as Lead Assessor (D32/33) and Assistant Coordinator for NVQ Level 4 in Occupational Health and Safety, and been responsible for individual tutoring, specialist lecturing and advice, as well as conducting observation and assessment of Health and Safety practice by candidates. She devised and delivered training for nationally recognised TUC Safety Representative Course Programmes, including Risk Assessment, COSHH, and Manual Handling.
In her early years of employment, Susannah worked attended focus group meetings on stress and participated in local council's “health at work” stress management programme. During her employment within local authority, she also attended specialist trainings for participation in a major trauma emergency team in bereavement counselling and managing trauma and crisis using cognitive behavioural therapy.
